The historic Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank building is being transformed into the Hall des Lumieres. Retaining the Beaux-Arts architectural style of the building creates the perfect canvas for the “Gustav Klimt: Gold in Motion” exhibition featuring 30-foot-tall images of celebrated works that move across the structure in a way that’s meant to complement Klimt’s artwork as well as the marble walls, stained glass skylights and towering columns. The 360-degree imagery, along with a specifically arranged musical soundtrack featuring Wagner, Beethoven, Puccini, and others, will create a unique experience that blends art, sound, and architecture. Following lunch in a converted bank vault at Trinity Place restaurant we’ll take a short walk through Zuccotti Park (lots of history there!) to the Mural Project at the World Trade Center.
