Patricia Whitehead, librarian, teacher, enthusiastic reader

Nothing stays the same. History keeps changing, the political boundaries shift, our social identities evolve. This is certainly true today in the ever-changing world in which we live. Each of these stories explores some aspect of change socially or politically for
an assortment of the Americans they depict, a shifting of the ground beneath their feet. Come explore how literature helps us to navigate and observe how our place in the world changes as the world changes around us. Stories include: John O’Hara, Graven Image; Joseph O’Neill, World of Cheese; Ben Fountain, Lion’s Mouth; Said Syrafiezdah, Scenic Route. (click on title to access PDF of the story)
